Standard GP consultations are 30 minutes, giving you ample time to discuss your health concerns thoroughly. Full check-ups require a 1-hour appointment. This is significantly longer than the typical 10-minute NHS appointment.

Do you offer out-of-hours care?

Yes. Our 24-hour on-call service is covered by the doctors of the practice, not locums. This ensures continuity of care and means you will speak to a doctor who knows the practice and its patients. For out-of-hours emergencies, call 020 7584 6718.

Can I book a telephone or video consultation?

Yes, we offer telephone and video consultations at the same rate as in-person appointments (£280 for 30 minutes). These are convenient for follow-ups, prescription reviews, or consultations where a physical examination is not required.

Do you offer home visits?

Yes. Home visits are available within the M25 area. Daytime visits are £600, evening visits (5pm to 10pm) are £800, and night/weekend visits are £1,000 by arrangement with the practice doctor.

What health screening packages do you offer?

We offer four tiers of screening packages: Chelsea (from £2,600), Mayfair (£3,700, men only), Burlington (from £3,700), and Knightsbridge (£4,700, men only). All include health questionnaire, GP consultation, blood tests, and MRI scans. Higher tiers add CT coronary arteries and prostate MRI.

What do the blood tests in the screening packages include?

Blood tests include full blood count, kidney, liver and thyroid function, nutrition markers (iron studies, vitamin B12 and folate), bone metabolism markers (calcium, phosphate, vitamin D), cholesterol profile, and glucose with HbA1c. Men also receive prostate profile, testosterone and sex hormone binding globulin testing.

What do I need for an Australian immigration medical?

You will need a valid passport and a valid HAP ID number. All Australian medicals are processed electronically on eMedical. The examination includes a physical examination, chest X-ray (age 11+), and blood tests depending on your visa type. Adults for permanent visas cost £320.

How long does an immigration medical take?

For an individual adult, please allow 1.5 hours from arrival for your appointment. We recommend allowing 2 hours in case of delays. Please arrive 30 minutes before your booked appointment time to complete necessary paperwork.

Can I get an immigration medical without having lodged a visa application?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For Canada and New Zealand, you can complete an "upfront medical" before lodging your visa application. We will create a case file for you and provide a unique identification number that you can include with your visa application. You have three months from your medical appointment to notify immigration.

Which countries can you perform immigration medicals for?

Accepted Answer

We are accredited to perform immigration medicals for Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Belgium, and UK TB Clearance. We can also complete medical examinations for other countries including China, Namibia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Caribbean countries, and for university entry requirements.

Do you accept insurance?

We operate as a fee-for-service practice. Payment is due at the time of your appointment. We can provide detailed receipts and medical reports that you can submit to your private health insurer for reimbursement. Please check with your insurer regarding their policy on GP consultations.

Is wheelchair access available?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately Basil Mansions has a number of steps at its entrance and is not easily wheelchair accessible. However, we will always make reasonable adjustments. We can aid access with an evacuchair, offer a home visit, or with adequate notice arrange to see you at another location or arrange a ramp for access.

Do you offer interpreter services?

Yes, we can offer interpreter services as required including British Sign Language via The Language Shop. Please let us know when booking if you require an interpreter so we can arrange this in advance.
