Immigration Medical: New Zealand
The doctors in the practice are accredited to perform immigration medical examinations for New Zealand. With our in-house X-ray facilities, we offer a convenient one-stop service. All medicals are processed electronically on eMedical.
Making an Appointment
- The practice is open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm.
- Applicants should attend 30 minutes prior to the booked appointment time.
- If you have not already lodged an application with New Zealand Immigration, an "upfront medical" can be completed prior to your visa application.
- All appointment prices include a non-refundable fee of £80.
- Women are advised not to book their appointment for 3 days either side of their menstrual period.
- Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.
What to Bring
- Valid passport (mandatory)
- Spectacles or contact lenses if you wear them
- Most recent clinic letter for any important medical conditions
The Examination
- All applicants will have a full medical examination, including a urine test if aged 5 years and above.
- The medical involves a physical examination where the applicant will undress to underwear whilst wearing a gown.
- All applicants aged 11 years and above will need a chest X-ray.
- Full applicants (General Medical Certificate) aged 15+ will need blood tests for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, kidney function, full blood count and HbA1c.
- Limited Medical Certificate applicants will need a full blood count and kidney function test.
- Results typically take 3-4 working days to process and are submitted via eMedical.
